This volume consists mainly of originals of plates from Birds of Australia, v. VII, where they are acknowledged as being the work of John Gould and H.C. Richter. References to the Handbook to the Birds of Australia are inscribed on most of the paintings. Many of the works are intialled L.G., W.H.B.G., A.T.G. or L.P.G., but it has not been possible to identify these. There are also some sketches of European birds.

- Condition: On the advice of preservation staff, the album was disbound in 2003. The watercolours are housed in a solander box at LOC NL Shelves 542.
