Neil Adams begins this interview by talking about his family background and his experiences growing up in Melbourne. He goes on to talk about his early artistic and musical influences, his educational background at Caulfield High School and his early work as a library attendant. He continues with a discussion of his time at Rusden College and some of his post-college influences including the work of Russell Dumas and Nanette Hassall. He goes on to talk about Apollo Object by Stephen Petronio, and his own early work Interface. He continues with a discussion of his trip to New York in 1973, specifically referring to alignment work undertaken there and its effect on his choreography. He goes on to discuss various productions he created for TasDance, the attitudes of children towards contemporary dance, and his choreographic process. He concludes by analysing his process in creating the works Sites and Settings, and Nocturnus, the choreographer Graeme Watson, and his aspirations for the future.
