- Biography/History:

Dr Turnbull (1803-1891) migrated from Scotland to Tasmania in 1825 and practised medicine in Hobart. He was Secretary to Governor Sir John Franklin and Sir John Eardley-Wilmot. He was also a member of the Legislative Council. See Australian encyclopaedia 1958 V.9:59
