Three envelopes to commemorate the flight undertaken in 1978 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first Trans-Pacific Flight, 31 May-9 June 1928. The inaugural flight was made by Australians Charles Kingsford Smith and Charles Ulm, and Americans Harry Lyon and James Warner. The envelope (No. 1 of 146) franked Oakland, Ca. 31 May 1978 has a USA 13 cent stamp affixed to it. The other 2 envelopes (No. 1 of 150 and unnumbered) have affixed facsimiles of Australian stamps which were issued for the 50th anniversary Trans-Pacific flight. Each numbered envelope contains a card with details of the 1928 flight (i.e. 2 cards + 3 envelopes).
