Suzanna Prushynsky, born 1956 in Sydney talks about her early life as the daughter of Ukrainian Displaced Persons (DPs); her passion for the preservation of Ukrainian heritage in Australia; the traditions that have been passed down in her family; her academic career and how it has led to her present career as a music teacher; the differences between Ukrainian traditions in Sydney and Perth; how some songs and aspects of culture have been lost in the Ukraine yet preserved in Australia; the importance of recording these traditions for future generations.
