- Summary:
-
Ensuring that clinicians and members of the community have a clear voice in health decision-making at local, Area and statewide levels is a key objective of the Planning Better Health reforms being introduced within the NSW public health care system. Every Area Health Service (AHS) will be required to establish an Area Health Advisory Council (AHAC) which will be one of the key ways of achieving greater involvement of clinicians (such as doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, Aboriginal health workers), consumers and community members in the planning and delivery of health services.
