Simon Potter is an English historian who teaches at the National University of Ireland in Galway. He has been looking at the connections between the mass media in Britain and Australia and the other Dominions in the period 1920-70, and the role of the media in sustaining and eroding the imperial connection. In his time at the Library Dr Potter plans to study the papers of leading newspapermen such as Sir Keith Murdoch and representatives of the ABC and Australian newspapers based in London, as well as secondary sources.
