- "'Pick-a-back' train being loaded at Stirling North for haulage over the new Commonwealth Railways standard gauge line to Brachina on the Central Australia Railway. On arrival there, the narrow gauge train is off-loaded down a similar ramp. NM-class 4-8-0 No. 35 is one of Comrails diminishing fleet of steam motive power. It is of similar design to Queensland Railways C-17 class."--Notes on reverse of photograph.
