Reg Marsh, born 1906, Majors Creek. Marsh speaks about his father who was a police officer and held the position of Protector of Aborigines in Bateman's Bay, N.S.W. and about his own working life. In 1953, he became Assistant Secretary, Social and General Affairs with the Commonwealth Department of Territories. He talks about the relationship between the Commonwealth and the churches operating Aboriginal missions in the Northern Territory. From 1957 to 1962 Marsh was Assistant Administrator of the Northern Territory. He discusses the administration of the child removal policy and the policy of assimilation.
