The Japanese print shows a man is talking with a woman (a man in woman's clothing). The woman is about to come out from a paragon, with a bunch of leaves in her hand. An ogre is standing behind and is watching the exchanges between the two people. Details of the date and other details the death of two actors are also in the print.

- Many prints were produced to commemorate the death of famous Kabuki actors and it shows how popular Kabuki actors were in late Edo and early Meiji period.
- The Kabuki actor, portrayed Ichikawa Danjūrō 8th died when he was only 32, and at the peak of his popularity. The numbers of the memorial prints were noted as up to three hundred kinds.
