Queen Mary Coast is that portion of the coast of Antarctica lying between Cape Filchner at E 91°54', and Cape Hordern, at E 100°30'. It was discovered in February 1912 by the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-14) under the leadership of Douglas Mawson, who named it for Mary of Teck, queen consort of George V.
- Notes:
-
- Topographic map of the Shackleton Ice-Shelf north of Queen Mary Land and Kaiser Wilhelm Land to the southwest. Note the Davis Sea off the west coast of the Shackleton Ice Shelf is shown as an extensive stretch of pack ice. The map highlights the exploratory tracks in that area for the periods of 1912-1914. In relation to ship tracks, the first, second and third cruises are differentiated. In relation to sledging operations the Western Coastal Party, the Eastern Party, the Eastern Depot Party, the Southern Depot Party and the Western Depot Party are all shown. Relief is shown by land and ice contours, hachures, and spot heights.
