- Summary:
-
The background in each sheet from this set of Japanese woodblock prints lists the names of popular figures and their fields of specialisation. Together, the listings approximate a type of 'who's who' of figures from contemporary culture and provide an insight into Meiji popular society. The foreground of the each sheet also showcases a kabuki actor by the well-known print designer of theatre prints, Toyohara Kunichika (written by A. Newland)
