The categories include personal reminiscences and reactions, the familiar essay, the character sketch (types and individuals), themes of description/classification, processes, comparison and contrast, the school, farming, religion, the arts and entertainment, sports, science, persuasive exposition, argumentative exposition, "what if," some different types of reading activities, writing about literature, and topics for impromptu writing.
