The 2000-2001 Fact Book provides information about the general background, finance, students, faculty, and programs of Austin Community College (ACC) (Texas). Highlights for fall 2000 (unless otherwise noted) include: (1) data for course enrollment show that 6,915 students were enrolled in arts and humanities, 10,400 in communications, 17,630 in math and science, and 18,717 in social and behavioral sciences; (2) total estimated expenditures for fiscal year 2001 is $93,860,794; (3) in spring 2000, ACC's service area was 64% White, 24.2% Hispanic, 8% black, and 3% "other"; (4) there were 25,856 students enrolled in credit programs; (5) the largest student age group was 19-21 (31%), followed by 25-30 (17%); the smallest age group was age 65 and over (0.2%); (6) in fall 2000, approximately 54% of ACC's students were female; 64% of ACC's students were white, 21% Hispanic, 7% black, and 6% Asian; (7) 25% of ACC's students were full time; (8) ACC's staff, in fall 2000, was 58% female and 66% white; and (9) in 1999-2000, 24,920 students participated in one or more of ACC's 3,618 continuing education programs.
