Radcliffe Dawson born 1893 in Yass, N.S.W., speaks about his early life in Queensland and Fiji; being present at the laying of the foundation stone for Canberra City; his time with the Light Horse; surveying parts of Queensland in 1918 with his brother; after the Depression joining a station management company and continuing in this field until his retirement; whip cracking, explains the process of making whip handles out of bullock tails. Tape 2: Talks about meeting a group of rabbiters; shearer's cooks; gold digging; explains the making and uses for dog-shoes.
