John Good joined the R.A.A.F. on 23 May 1941. He became a pilot and attained the Rank of Squadron Leader. He served in England with the 467 Squadron, flying Lancaster Bombers, based in Waddington and was awarded his first Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC). He later joined the 466 Squadron flying Halifax Bombers and was awarded a Bar to his DFC.
