The text describes the exhibits at the museum, also includes Foster Leek's autobiography (p. 17-23) and his photo on title page and cover. Born in Yorkshire in 1851, he emigrated to NSW in 1877 and spent time there and in New Zealand before arriving in Tasmania in 1884. He worked briefly as a navvy on the railways near Westbury and Deloraine before joining the police force. His postings included Ulverstone, Latrobe, Moorina, Sandy Bay and Lovett. The Sandy Bay posting he described as the hardest station he ever had. This included 12-14 hour days on duty at the Tasmanian International Exhibition--Catalogues from Astrolabe Booksellers, no. 70, April 2013.
