MS 1837 comprises correspondence dealing chiefly with international relations and the League of Nations, some personal letters, including correpondence with Sir J.G. Latham, Prof. Gordon Childe, J.B. Condliffe, Sir L.E. Groom, Vernon Bartlett, Duncan Hall, Sir R.J. Boyer and Francis Anderson (102 letters). The collection includes notes for 35 broadcast talks on international affairs and the League, 1931-1932, and there are also some memoranda and several pamphlets (1 box).
- Biography/History:

Lecturer, broadcaster and public relations consultant. Raymond Gosford Watt was born in Gosford, New South Wales, in 1889. Watt was a foundation member of the New South Wales League of Nations Union and served as national secretary of the Australian League of Nations Union from 1930 to 1945. He became the New South Wales Division United Nations Association of Australia's first president in 1945-1946. During a long career in international affairs as a journalist and lecturer, he was twice a federal delegate to the League of Nations annual assembly and led the Australian delegation to the Brussels World Peace Congress in 1936. Watt died in Sydney in 1967.
