Includes articles published between 1872-1991. The first Presbyterian Church in Australia was built in NSW in 1809. In 1901 the State churches, while retaining some autonomy, entered into a federal union as the Presbyterian Church of Australia. Therefore both state and national forms of name were used concurrently. In 1977 part of the Presbyterian Church of Australia joined with the Methodist Church of Australasia and the Congregational Union of Australia, to form the Uniting Church in Australia
