The Autonomous Region of Bougainville has voted unequivocally for independence in late November 2019, and it may be a new country in the Pacific a few years later. The referendum has a number of implications, especially the geopolitical implications among Australia, New Zealand, the US, as well as China. Therefore, the Bougainville was given emphasis and selected as a part of "COVID-19 (Coronavirus): archived websites from China, Indonesia, Thailand, and other Pacific countries". The collection is to document the responses to COVID-19 from different angles, such as its government, the public, and related countries who has geopolitical benefits with.
