Summary

Newspaper cuttings on the search for Charles Ulm and his crew after his crash landing in the Pacific in 1934. Photographs. Map signed by Ulm, 1931. Souvenir book of flights made by the aircraft "Faith in Australia", 1933-1934. Memorandum from Charles Ulm to G.M. Littlejohn, J.L. Skilling, Ayres and Imperial Oil Ltd. dated 16 Nov. 1934. Plan of airfield. The block of wood and aluminium ferrule used to protect the steel rope used for lifting the plane from the boat (located in pictorial section). Letter from William C. Sloan to the Hon. Francis M. Forde, Director General, Posts and Telegraphs, to the Postmaster, Los Angeles. Also chart prepared by G. I.R. Halligan during the flight Faith in Australia' from Australia to Papua New Guinea by Ulm, signed Lae, 30 July 1934. Covering letter from Halligan donating the chart 20 November 1935.
