Bronwyn and Mick Hodgkins talk about their parents; their schooling; Mick speaks about his first job, how he met Bronwyn; mixed religions of parents, their resolution and marriage (1973); how they re-married in Cairns (1993); Bronwyn’s early musical influences, folk music, classical and opera; his interests in manual arts, singing in rock bands, influenced by folk bands; both moving to Cairns; their involvement in bands and the Folk Club; forming their own band; 'Mangrove Jack' Band; Bronwyn learning dances from Shirley Andrews' book and Bushwhackers; Ted and Carolynne Burns; how their performances became a sensation (1985); promoting their new cassette; National Folk Festival; other festivals and performers; the break-up with Ted and Carolynne (1986); backing up 'The Furies'; overseas tours, making and selling their own cassettes; attending Barcelona Expo (1992); the split of local Folk Club; their new business (2007); the state of local music business, loss of venues; how they built their new house. Mick talks about being involved in local music and receiving royalties. Bronwyn talks about learning the flute; being influenced by her early family singing; wanting to do landscaping; both discuss musical instruments.
