Summary

Kemp-Howard speaks about her father who was brought up in The Bungalow at Alice Springs and about her mother who was an Antikirinja and Yunkunytjatjara woman. Kemp-Howard was around the age of 8 when she and her two brothers were placed in the United Aborigines Mission Home in Oodnadatta, S.A. They were later transferred to Colebrook Home, Eden Hills, Adelaide. She describes living conditions at Oodnadatta and Colebrook. She remained at Colebrook until the age of 16. After her first marriage, she was re-united with her mother and brothers. She speaks about the long-term effects of separation on her life.
