Cypress historical backgrounds, no. 1

Summary

This book explores the problems that Aboriginals faced during the gold rush in Bendigo and the Castlemaine areas of Victoria during the mid 1800s. On page 80 there is mention of the 'Loddon Tribe' of Aboriginals whose artifacts are on display at a centre in Franklinford. Franklinford or Mount Franklin was once part of the Loddon Aboriginal Protectorate station, where the Dja Dja Wurrung people lived from January 1841, until they were forcibly resettled in 1864.
