- Summary:
-
"The welcome accorded to the Islamic delegation at Muswellbrook represented a significant inter-faith and cultural event. The Revd Palmer, an Englishman, had earlier made a moving speech apologizing for the 12th and 13th century 'crusades' to the Holy Land. Dr Ali flew from Perth with his son, Nasrul, for the occasion. The Muslim delegation presented cheques of $10,000 and $1500 for local drought relief to the Council and the owner of the property where the prayer was conducted, respectively. "--File NLA/16245.
