- Proof map of three of the Cook Islands : Wanooaette [i.e. Takutea] Island and Wateeoo [i.e. Atiu] Island, and in an inset, Mangeea [i.e. Mangaia] Island, together with another inset showing Toobouai (Tubuai) in the Society Islands in French Polynesia. These particular Cook Islands were charted by James Cook on his third Pacific voyage in April 1777 while sailing for the Society Islands with livestock he carried aboard the Discovery and the Resolution. As he sailed toward Tahiti he discovered Tubuai Island on 13 August 1777 where they stayed for 6 weeks. Relief shown by hachures and soundings.
