(1957); her appointment as Senior Lecturer/Librarian at the newly opened Western Teachers College, S. Aust. (1962).
Brewer recalls Public Service restrictions imposed on women in the workforce which were only abolished in the early 1970s, forcing her to resign her position when she married; her work during the 14 years it took for her to return to Principal Lecturer status, which she had when she married; at the end of 1969 being asked to return as temporary Senior Lecturer; her appointment to the Library Association Board of Education as an Examiner for school libraries and Accrediter for tertiary library courses.
