Summary

Withers and McCallum talk about the origins of the play "High Spirits" in which they were performing in Canberra at the time of the interview. They then discuss the difficulties in finding roles for older actors; techniques for remembering lines and their intention to continue working. They then talk about the need to keep their work fresh; the use of emotions in acting; various techniques used in their work and the benefits of touring. Withers and McCallum then individually consider their careers and the role of ambition in their professional lives.
