Summary

Wood speaks about her childhood on the Ongerup Reserve, W.A. Following the death of her parents she and her siblings were sent to Gnowangerup Mission. She describes the conditions at the Mission. At the age of 14, she was sent out to work as a domestic. Wood's first child, a boy, was born when she was 16 and she unwittingly approved his adoption. She speaks about the removal of her son, her efforts to be reunited with him, and their eventual reunion after 35 years. Wood express her views on reconciliation and the "sorry'' debate.
