Pinfold speaks of his early life growing up in Sydney in the Depression years, how he may have been influenced in taking up wrestling due to the bullying he experienced at school, how he joined a gym and undertook bodybuilding but met a wrestler there who taught him holds and strategies, how his first match was against a grappler called "Chesty Bond", how he maintained a balanced perspective of wrestling and never gave up his day job in engineering, his experience of injuries during his 30 years as a wrestler and today suffers extensive athritis, his recollections of Leichhardt Stadium where he first wrestled in his early years as well as Sydney Stadium which was less working class, how he now suffers from extensive arthritis as a result of injuries received in his years wrestling, his views of the current style of wrestling, the need to project personality in combination with wrestling skill, his involvement in the early Australian Wrestling Federation first established at Leichhardt Stadium as a register of local talent and its eventual development as a trade union for wrestlers, his time as its Secretary and his understanding of its history.

Allan Pinfold wrestled professionally in Australia from 1945-1975 and whose wrestling matches were covered both by radio and later television. A fitter and turner by trade, he wrestled as a sidelight to his trade which included overseas matches in India and Ceylon. On his retirement in 1975 he continued as a referee for another ten years.
