22 letters written while Brack was serving in the A.I.F. as a lieutenant in the field artillery. The letters, which describe Brack's daily thoughts and activities and which sometimes discuss artistic matters, were written from various army camps in New South Wales and from Brack's home in Kew, Victoria.
