Withers, an actress, talks about dancing from an early age, initially for health reasons, then working in theatre from 16 and her first film role in "The girl in the crowd" followed by a 7 year contract with Warner Bros. She then explains the origins of her name, Googie, and her decision to keep it professionally. Withers then talks about her theatrical work, in particular, "Gate Theatre Revue"; working with Jack Buchanan, George Formby and Michael Powell; playing in "Private Lives" under the direction of Noel Coward in 1946 and working with Sam Wannamaker. She then describes meeting and working with John McCallum and their first tour of Australia with the plays, "Simon and Laura" and "The deep blue sea"; moving to Australia as husband, John McCallum, was taking up a position of associate director with J. C. Williamson. She then talks about her work in England and Australia and her plans for the future.
