There are five visitor's books kept at Government House in South Australia by Lord and Lady Kintore between 1889 and 1895. An account book covers 1891 to 1893. There is a wages book for 1890-1891. A dinner book lists entertainment at Government House during Kintore's period as Governor. A log book kept by "Relagoe" describes a cruise of the steamer "Governor Musgrave" to Spencers Gulf in 1893, when Kintore was a passenger.

Born in Edinburgh and educated at Eton and Cambridge. Governor of South Australia from 1889 to 1895. Took a keen interest in the Federal Convention of 1891 and in the building of the Central Australia railway.
