Summary

Correspondence, typescript poems, leaflets, photographs, artwork and financial records connected with the production of "New Poetry" magazine. The correspondence amounts to some 400 letters and dates mainly from 1979-1980, while the financial records date mainly from 1973-1980. Principal correspondents include David Brooks, Christopher Edwards, Billy Jones, Sylvia Kantarizis, Tom Shapcott, Richard Tipping, Vincent Buckley, Bruce Beaver, John Tranter, Fay Zwicky, Chris Wallace-Crabbe, Rodney Hall, Andrew Taylor, Kate Llewellyn, Dennis Haskell, John Blight, Philip Roberts and John Forbes. Included in the collection is a file relating to the visit to Australia of American poet Robert Duncan in 1976.

Biography/History

New poetry was edited by Cheryl and Robert Adamson in Sydney and published by the Poetry Society of Australia. It ceased publication in 1981.
