Jack Guttie, Aboriginal stockman, speaks about his father, Archie Guttie, and other family members; working conditions and experiences as a drover, including camps at waterholes; humorous anecdotes about the branding and duffing of cattle; a young Murri who worked with him who made a slide guitar from an old petrol tin and a piece of wire; tucker boxes carried by camels; description of water hole at Durham Downs; memories of maternal grandmother who couldn't speak English properly; abandoned Royal Mail coach on Strezlecki channel; English nicknames imposed on Aboriginal people; min min lights; experience of bad rush (stampede) of cattle in 1955; bush ants; crocodiles in Cooper Creek.
