The transcripts are taken from the local history material contained within the Perkins papers. These are a voluminous compilation of extracts to do with the Eden-Monaro area, typed from numerous sources and in general arranged chronologically. Specific sections deal with Monaro district, Tumut and Adelong.

John Perkins was a N.S.W. politician. He was the member for Goulburn in Legislative Assembly 1921-1926 and the member for Eden-Monaro in the House of Representatives 1926-1928, 1931-1943.
