Summary

Dame Beryl Beaurepaire talks about her family background; schooling at St. Andrew's Primary School in Kew and Fintona Girls School and joining the WAAF after a year at university; her memories of Melbourne and the social activities enjoyed at the time; her experiences in the WAAF as a meteorologist and the variations in pay and conditions for men and women; the end of WWII; marriage in 1946; birth of twins and her involvement in Sir Frank Beaurepaire's (her father-in-law) company, Olympic Consolidated Industries with her husband; her husband's position as Lord Mayor from 1965-67; involvement with the Liberal Party; her position as Chairman of the War Memorial; her relationship with the RSL and her long-standing involvement with YWCA.
