A collection of music scores, letters and newspaper cuttings. The printed music is mainly Scottish songs for chorus or part songs, with some of the music by James Brash inscribed to his friend A Stuart Peters. Many of the music items are inscribed with the collectors name and some of the letters and handwriten notes refer to musical performances for broadcasting on radio.

Stuart Peters was a baritone in the singing group, the Gay Gordons, who performed mainly in Victoria probably in the 1920's and 1930's. He was a Scotsman, named John P. Stewart, who came to Australia early in the 20th century and worked as a mining engineer. The collection shows variations of the name used: John Stewart, John P. Stewart, Jno. Stewart, Jock Stewart, A. Stuart Peters, J. Stuart Peters.
