Eileen Fejo is the Assistant Director, Aboriginal Hostels, Katherine, N.T. and an Indigenous separated child. Fejo was 4 years old when she was removed by a patrol officer. She describes living conditions at St. Mary's Anglican Hostel, Alice Springs where she remained until the age of 15. She had occasional contact with members of her family while at St. Mary's but never saw her mother again. Fejo worked for a time in Katherine, before moving to Darwin where she married and raised eight children. She talks about the policy of removal and its effect on her life.
