Tomlin speaks about her early memories of Mount Doreen, N.T. and about her removal from her family at the age of 7 to The Bungalow in Alice Springs, then to Melbourne and Adelaide. Later she was transferred to Garden Point Mission on Melville Island where she was reunited with one of her brothers. Tomlin speaks the living conditions at Garden Point, her relationship with Sister Annunciata, her reunion with her mother, grandmother and aunt in Alice Springs, her work at Darwin Hospital where she witnessed the removal of children, and the reunion of children at Garden Point Mission.
