- Biography/History:

Minister of a number of federal departments from 1933 to 1940. During the Second World War held a number of senior wartime posts before becoming Governor of Bengal from 1944 to 1946. Re-elected to the House of Representatives in 1949 and was Minister of various government departments until 1960 when he received a life peerage as Baron Casey of Berwick. He became Governor-General of Australia from 1965 to 1969.
