Eagles speaks of her childhood, early musical experiences, her brother Jim and their shared early interest in film; her studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music; her composition scholarship under Eugene Goosens and Alex Burnard; the commission of her piano concerto 'Diversions' by pianist Eileen Joyce; her first foray into film music with the Commonwealth Film Unit's documentary North to the Sun; her trip to England in 1951 to study for a year with renowned composition teacher Matyas Seiber at the Royal College of Music; following her return to Australia she returned to work with the Commonwealth Film Unit culminating her appointment as its Director; her involvement in and views about the current musical scene in Australia; her views on specific Australian and European composers; her position as a woman composer in Australia.
