Collection of eleven letters, some written by Gruner, some written in another hand but signed by Gruner. All are to Dr Francis Crossle. His association with Norman Lindsay is mentioned in these letters. Also includes a small photograph of Elioth Gruner.
- Biography/History:

Landscape artist Elioth Gruner was considered 'the last of the Australian impressionist painters'. Born in New Zealand in 1882, he lived in Sydney from 1883 and exhibited regularly from 1901. He won the Wynne Prize seven times between 1916 and 1937. He was inspired by George Lambert, and his work admired by Norman Lindsay
