"On 26 October 1985, His Excellency, the Right Honourable Sir Ninian Stephen ... Governor General of Australia, presented the title of Uluru (Ayers Rock-Mount Olga) National Park to the Uluru-Katajuta Land Trust on behalf of the traditional owners. In return for this recognition of Aboriginal ownership, the traditional owners leased the area to the Director, Australian National Parks and Wildlife Service to ensure its continuing use as a National Park for the enjoyment of all Australians and overseas visitors."--Printed p. 1.
