MS 9171 comprises records in chronological order including correspondence, newsletters, handbills, cuttings, programs, competition entries and adjudicators' reports. There are also press and publicity albums, 1960-1974, negatives and accounts, 1966-1967, and proofs of photographs of "The red violin", 1963. A later addition to the collection includes photographs of performances and other activities of Ballet Australia, taken by Leone Vining Brown, ca. 1967-ca. 1973 (3 boxes, 1 fol. box).
The Acc06.077 instalment comprises a small collection of musical scores for works composed by John Antill (Wakooka and Black opal), Kurt Herweg (Jedoah the fisherman) and Bruce Lawrence (The genius) for productions by Ballet Australia in the 1960s (1 fol. box).
The Acc06.116 instalment comprises submissions, notes, music scores and costume designs relating to new ballets for Ballet Australia (1 packet).

Ballet Australia was the choreographic ensemble founded by Valrene Tweedie, whose work became a major part of Sydney dance culture in the 1960s and 1970s. The organisation conducted full-scale performances as well as workshops of new choreography from 1960, and from 1969-1976 hosted a major annual choreographic competition.
