The MS 9663 collection comprises a small amount of personal correspondence, notebooks and press clippings, three folders of commercial advertising brochures relating to house construction, information on new housing developments in several areas of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, reports and surveys, research notes, plans of Canberra from the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette, and papers from the project, "South Tuggeranong Historical and Museum Potential". The collection also contains many photographs of housing and other developments, maps and architectural sketches. Publications contained within the collection include a thesis on land use, reviews, reports, and The State Planning Authority Act No. 59, 1963 (2 boxes, 2 fol. boxes, 1 fol. item).
The Acc05.134 instalment comprises architecture notes, lecture notes, Department of Interior and National Capital Development Commission papers, and maps and plans (4 boxes, 1 ledger box, 2 small rolled items box, 2 large rolled items boxes, 1 oversize roll).
- Biography/History:

Town planner and architect. Oskars Pumpurs was a practising advocate of ecologically sustainable development long before most people had heard of it and an early exponent of neighbourhood planning. He worked for the National Capital Development Commission and its predecessor, the Department of Town Planning of the Department of the Interior, during the period of Canberra's most prolific development from the 1950s to 1982. Pumpurs died in 1992, aged 72.
