Pleasant, how he spent his early years in jackerooing and in war service, his early association with Len Evans and Rudy Komon, the chardonnay story, winemaking families and friends in the Hunter Valley, the vintages of the Tyrrell's red wines, how the Gault-Millau Prize awarded in Paris was significant in developing international markets for Tyrrell's, an overview of Australian winemaking, his interest in the cattle business in the Hunter Region and in Queensland, describes some of the people at Pokolbin, his main winery, discusses the great winemakers of the Hunter such as Davoren, Tulloch, McGuigan, Stockhausen, Kidd.
