Hogbin speaks about accompanying her husband to Palm Island, Qld. when he was appointed as general overseer in 1957. She was a qualified teacher and was seconded to teach at the Palm Island School. She talks about the children she taught, segregation on the Island, and the living conditions and medical care for Indigenous people. In 1967, the Hogbins were transferred to Weipa.
