- Title page in double rules.
- Another edition of the "small" prayer book (EMI 0051 W.31) of 1839 containing morning prayer, evening prayer, private prayers and the standard collection of 42 hymns with the contents similar to those in the edition of 1839. A further printing (EMI 0069 W.38) was issued later in the year. The printing history is unusually complicated. There are 2 1840 printings on paper of differing quality and involving resetting of the text.
- Printed in double columns by Colenso in an issue of 20,000 copies. Most copies are bound with W.38.
- ANL copy has private prayers Pp 25, 26 as in Williams 31. Believed to be 2nd issue of 1st Prayer book.
