- Biography/History:

Chaplain, missionary, farmer and magistrate. Reverend Samuel Marsden arrived in Sydney Cove in 1794 and was appointed assistant to Reverend Richard Johnson at Parramatta where, in the years following Johnson's departure, he became the only Anglican clergyman on the mainland.
